Traveling to Shanghai for the China Grand Prix couldn't be easier. Shanghai is well served by two international airports:  Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) to the east of the city and Hongqiao International Airport (SHA)to the west.

Most international flights to Shanghai arrive at the modern and convenient Pudong International Airport (PVG), with Hongqiao International Airport (SHA) acting as the hub for domestic Shanghai flights and serving a handful of international routes including flights from Tokyo to Shanghai, Seoul to Shanghai, Taipei to Shanghai, Hong Kong to Shanghai and Macau to Shanghai. The city is also well connected to the rest of China by rail from Shanghai Station, Shanghai South Train Station and Hongqiao Railway Station, the Shanghai hub for China's bullet trainsystem.

When it comes to choosing a hotel in Shanghai there is a multitude of options. If you are opting for a China F1 weekend ticket and don't plan on missing a second of the action then you'll want to be staying close to Metro Line 11 as possible. From there you can hop on the Metro to the Shanghai Circuit Station (or Jiading New Town if the Shanghai Circuit station is closed due to the crowds), and be there within the hour.

Check out hotels in the Jiangsu Lu area for quick and easy access to Line 11 while remaining fairly central. Decent mid to high-end options include the Rendezvous Merry Hotel, the Nikko Hotel, Hotel Equatorial Shanghai, all of which are in walking distance to Jiangsu Lu Metro Station. For budget hotels in the area check out the Shanghai City Central Youth Hostel (from RMB 146 for a single room).
